Sustainability at The Beck Group:
Beck's sustainability team offers a full suite of consulting services. Our highly skilled team has established itself as a LEED Proven Provider and ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager Partner. Through an integrated and holistic approach, we provide third party certifications, energy efficiency analysis, Life Cycle Cost Assessment (LCCA), solar studies and help our clients find financial incentives for sustainable building strategies. As a signatory of the AIA 2030 Commitment, we are committed to designing net zero buildings and report our firm's greenhouse gas emissions annually through the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP). We, the sustainability team, are seeking a Sustainability Manager like you to add a value to our team and help continue building Beck's respected reputation.
What you bring to the table
You as the Sustainability Manager, will work within our extraordinary team to achieve the highest level of building performance. The ideal candidate will have strong critical thinking and analytical skills and will be flexible in a fast-paced environment. This position involves the following essential functions:
  • Coordinate with team members, owners, and consultants to produce high-quality documentation for compliance with local green building ordinances and LEED, WELL, fitwel, SITES, and Parksmart certifications.
  • Work closely with design teams to analyze sustainable building strategies and track our National Sustainability Objective on all design projects during all phases of the project.
  • Lead project meetings, prepare presentation materials and communicate sustainable design and construction goals, as well as greenhouse gas emissions reductions strategies, in a clear manner.
  • Strong project management and time management skills are required to draw connections between detail-oriented tasks and the bigger picture.
Who we think will be a great fit
A person with a passion for sustainable building technologies and experience developing sustainability guidelines, completing third party certifications, implementing low carbon technologies, and knowledge of Environmental Social Governance (ESG) frameworks. You'll bring a positive, "can-do" attitude, and possess uncompromising authenticity and integrity. You will also meet the following requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field: engineering, architecture, building science, or a related discipline of study.
  • Must have at least 3 years' experience as a sustainability project manager.
  • Knowledge of standards, codes, and rating systems (LEED, WELL, Fitwel, etc.) associated with sustainability and energy performance.
  • Must have experience with LEED certification process.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Revit, SketchUp and Bluebeam Revu.
  • Familiar with the current environmental simulation tools and engineering technologies
  • Highly collaborative & organized.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and commitment to work within the integrated design team structure.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and assignments firmwide.
  • Excellent team player.
  • LEED / WELL Accredited Professional is preferred.
Physical Demands:
Frequently required to sit, stand, and move about the office; frequently operates a computer and other office productivity equipment; may lift and move up to ten pounds; constantly communicates with project teams, Beck employees, and external vendors; ability to adhere to timely and consistent attendance.
