Danbury Hospital, now part of Nuvance Health, is seeking a full-time Surgical Physician Assistant to join our established and growing Surgical Advanced Practitioner Services program in Danbury, Connecticut, located about 60 miles northeast of New York City and near the border of Westchester and Putnam Counties in New York State. Our busy service of 13 full-time Advanced Practitioners currently provides services to all surgical patients admitted to the hospital, as well as in Observation, Extended stay, Emergency room, and Operating room, including consults, pre and post-operative care as well as OR first assist. Specialties include, but are not limited to, Urology, Orthopedics, Neurosurgical/Spine, Plastics, and ENT. As we grow the program, we will be evolving to a 24/7 service. Some weekend and night coverage is required. Opportunity for full-time nights position for interested candidates.

The ideal candidate will be a board certified physician assistant with previous surgical and/or patient management experience and/or surgical residency training. New graduates welcome to apply. This is an employed position with Nuvance Health Medical Practice. We offer a competitive compensation package, including allowances for CMEs and Dues expenses.

Danbury Hospital has 371 beds and is a Level II Trauma Center with approximately 70,000 ED visits per year. As part of the greater NY metropolitan area, the city of Danbury enjoys both proximity to New York City culture and access to a wide array of outdoor activities, including hiking, biking, fishing and boating in state and regional parks and preserves. Danbury is home to Western Connecticut State University as well as a number of historical sites, museums, theaters and art galleries. The area has highly rated public and private school options. Boston, New York City, New Haven and Hartford are easily accessible via train or car.
