Job description
The Arc of North Carolina is currently seeking direct support professionals (Support Associates) in Mecklenburg, Gaston, Iredell and Union Counties.
Schedule: Flexible schedule based on the needs of the individual/family. Monday-Sunday (between 10 and 40 hours per week)
Criteria: Looking for an energetic, outgoing, motivated people who are creative and ready to work and have passion about supporting individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
No prior knowledge or experience is required- The Arc will provide training for you.
Support Associates provide 1:1 teaching of daily living skills to a person with I/DD both in the community and at their home, during the weekdays and weekends and depending on the needs of the individual. You will be supporting people as they build and maintain their independence in order to have a happy, health, safe, and integrated life. You will help provide an atmosphere that promotes inclusion, choice, and opportunity for persons with disabilities.
You must be 18+ years with a high school diploma, valid driver’s license, valid vehicle registration and insurance, and a clean criminal background record in order to apply.
