Summary of the Job

This position has the responsibility of providing oversight of maintaining and coordinating activities for the Storeroom section of the Material Management Department. Position is responsible for maintaining operational continuity of the Material Handling Section, while insuring that the maximum level of supply support is provided to the Hospital at the most practical cost.

In addition to the responsibilities listed above, the Coordinator position requires the overseeing of day to day functions of the Material Management Floor Captains of Deaconess/Gateway Hospitals. This position has the responsibility of working with the department staff to ensure that each employee working in the department, are competent and maintain a level of quality craftsmanship that brings a positive reproach to the Department under the supervision of the Material Management Manager and the Supply Chain and Logistics Supervisor.

The Coordinator must be conscientious with regards to procedures and capable of accepting pressure assignments, clerical assignment and duties relative to the department as well as delegate assignments under the supervision of the Material Management Manager and Supply Chain and Logistics Supervisor.

Job Duties include the follow; other duties may be assigned:

• Monitor all inventory levels in the materials warehouse
• Track inventory of all stored stock
• Assist dock staff in receiving incoming supplies
• Pull daily stock from warehouse and prepare them for Floor Captains to deliver
• Work in conjunction with Supply Chain and Logistics Supervisor

Job Requirements & Qualifications

• High School Diploma, or GED equivalent
• Healthcare experience of 3 + years
• Previous experience in logistics or supply chain a plus
