An effective Supervisor will do this through leading by example. It is a Supervisor’s responsibility to ensure that they create a positive and productive work environment
What you’ll be doing:
- Conducts huddles as scheduled by management team.
- Sets a positive tone for the team
- Commonly works side by side with team members to accomplish store goals
- Is totally familiar and competent in conducting and adhering to all processes for management – huddles, floor observations, store walk-throughs, department checklists and any other assigned processes for management. Utilizes Trello to communicate and measure these processes
- Effectively supervises the sales floor to ensure customer/associate awareness at all times
- Remain current on all company policies and ensures that all policies, standards and procedures are maintained and followed in a consistent manner.
- Participates in the MOD responsibilities and schedule.
- Attends weekly management meetings as required by Store Manager
- Maintains a positive, fun and productive work environment.
- Communicates customer and/or employee issues to Assistant Managers or Store Manager in a timely fashion of outcome. Resolves complaints within 48 hours to best of ability
- Can open and close the store based on operational guidelines.
- Counts down cash drawers at the end of the day and petty cash if necessary.
- Reconciles propane book at end of every day.
- Regularly promote and teach the concept of “Every Customer Every Time” on the sales floor. Participates in huddles and store meetings.
- Knows how to conduct all best practices – 1-2-1s, floor walks, zoning, coaching process, floor observations, etc.
- Address any inventory issues brought to them by team members, ensuring Inventory Manager is apprised of the situation.
- Through Dexter - keep store staff sufficiently informed about plans, projects, policies and procedures, such that all staff members have an appropriate and positive level of buy-in to all levels of store operations as directed by store management team.
- Assist in the training and development of the floor staff as directed by store manager.
- Actively participate in the “Values in Action” recognition program.
- Maintain high level of housekeeping throughout the store, both inside and out.
- Enforce safety policies and procedures; is a safety role model.
- Supports Safety Coordinator in their role
Pay range is $19-$26/hour

Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have previous management experience and retail knowledge.
- Technically skilled in basic computer knowledge and software (such as, Word, Excel, Email, internet research).
- Must have good written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to provide motivation and leadership to employees store-wide.
- Knows how to prioritize: Place proper priorities on work to be done.
- Have good concept of overall management responsibilities.
- Keep well informed on facts important to management.
- Fair and impartial in dealing with employees.
- Communicate well with others, and work well as part of a retail team.
- Provide and accept constructive suggestions and instructions.
- Always polite and attentive to customers and staff.
- Dress appropriately and according to company policy.
- Tasks involve the ability to exert moderate, though not constant physical effort, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Requires the ability to reach, bend, balance, lift and transport various objects weighing up to 30 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift; at times, product weight may reach 50 lbs. Requires the ability to move heavy product with assistance.
