We are currently looking to fill an Architectural Superintendent in an Industrial and Commercial operation role.
This role includes the following responsibilities:
Plan, direct, and coordinate architectural construction and maintenance activities mainly in an industrial environment with some commercial site work. Participate in the conceptual development of industrial construction project(s) and oversee its organization, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervises and coordinates activities of Trades employees, including subcontractor’s, by optimizing resources (manpower, equipment, and materials) and ensures efficient, high quality, and timely completion of projects.
- Reads and follows plans, material lists and guidelines and applies necessary timelines
- Develop excellent working relationships with Company personnel, sub-contract personnel and customers for your assigned projects
- Organizes, supervises, leads and trains employees to complete projects within established guidelines and time frames.
- Insure conformance to specifications
- Train personnel in the use of equipment and tools
- Interpret specifications, blueprints and job orders as needed for area of supervision
- Establishes and adjusts work schedules to meet construction schedule
- Submits crewmembers’ timesheets to payroll by deadline
- Prevent waste and misuse of equipment, materials, and tools
- Exercise discipline at the work site to prevent unsafe work practices and idleness
- Strictly enforces and complies with Company safety and quality procedures
- Enforces all client-related safety policies and procedures
- Complies with all company policies and procedures and correctly applies them, including crewmember discipline and documentation
- Travel to various project and meeting sites
- May conduct tailgate safety meetings
- Interview job candidates
- Reward and discipline employees
- Address complaints and resolve problems
- Complete employee job performance reviews
- Use Microsoft computer software (email, Word, Excel)
- Consistent regular on-site attendance is a requirement of the job
- Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications:
- Ability to communicate effectively both in written format and oral presentation.

- Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment with very detailed planning.
- Ability to operate MS Office software – Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

- Working knowledge of trade being supervised

- Ability to produce accurate, timely, and competitive proposals
Education and Experience:
- 8 yrs carpentry experience in an industrial/commercial environment
- High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in construction management preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods)
- Knowledge of OSHA, owner standards, rules, safety, and quality standards
- The employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee is frequently required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision; distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work vary, but are expected to be 40 hours per week. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Work Environment:
- The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
- The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at office and construction job sites.
- Must use safety equipment (PPE) where warranted.
- The noise level in the office is quiet and at job sites it is usually loud.
