The Girl Scouts in the Heart of PA is looking for Summer Camp Nurses to help at our Girl Scout Camp properties in the summer of 2023, under the direction of our Healthcare Supervisor. The main base will be at Camp Small Valley in Halifax, PA, just north of Harrisburg, with potential activities at our other camps, located near Lancaster, Gettysburg, and Scranton.

Healthcare Assistants are responsible for assisting the Healthcare Supervisor in overseeing the health and well-being standards for the camp population and facilities in our Girl Scout residential (overnight) camp setting. The position also assists in the management of camper and staff health and safety through applying daily first-aid treatments, monitoring necessary medications, maintaining records, and logging injuries.

The Healthcare Assistant position is limited to one per week. Healthcare Assistants may assist with 1-4 weeks of Summer Camp, based on Summer Camp needs. A current RN, LPN, or equivalent experience required. Due to close contact and overnight supervision of a Girl Scout youth population in a residential setting, Healthcare Assistants must be female.

Our Healthcare Assistants will live on-site at Camp Small Valley for the duration of the individual's assignment (1-4 weeks), with lodging and meals provided. You may be assigned to help at another camp; in these cases, we will provide travel arrangements and meals.
