The BMX Counselor's mission is to foster a positive and nurturing environment for kids while at camp. Counselors are expected to teach campers in all aspects of BMX riding relative to the camper's ability. Applicants must have strong skills within their sport and strong communication skills. Counselors instruct campers in their sport/activity and are responsible for up to 10 campers between the ages of 5-17. Further, they are responsible for the daily needs of each camper when they are not in instructional sessions. This position is ever changing and you must be able to complete multiple jobs at any given time while at camp.

Requirements:
While every day is different and our roles may shift based on business needs, here is what you can expect to dive into in this role as a BMX Counselor:
  • Develop caring relationships with campers and help provide the best camp experience
  • Communicate with medical staff regarding injuries/special needs and facilitate disbursement of medication through the Camp Nurse
  • Maintain a positive attitude and participate in recreation activities with enthusiasm and encourage campers to do the same
  • Assist with check in and checkout of campers
  • Uphold highest standard of professionalism in appearance and behavior at all times
  • Behave in a manner appropriate to our youngest campers (5 years old)
  • Other duties as assigned
Certification & Education Requirements:
  • Action sports experience required
  • Current CPR and first aid certification preferred
  • Experience working with younger children preferred
  • Summer camp experience preferred
