Job description
The HSVS Success Coach will take ownership of providing individualized, thoughtful coaching for the young people living in HSVS' Foster Homes. The Success Coach should have innovative ideas for how to support educational success for youth who are not as motivated or may struggle academically, have experience trauma, are cautious in building trust, and may seek alternative roads to adult, independent success.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from four year college or equivalent, Master's preferred
- 5+ years working with youth
- Valid NYS Driver’s License
- Full-time 35-40 hours per week with flexibility to work evenings and travel across the boroughs.
- Experience required working in the education and foster care systems.
- Experience required supporting Individualized Education Plans and 504s.
- Experience preferred working with vocational and alternative high school programs.
- Experience preferred working with post-secondary programs.
- Experience working with families of youth with serious emotional disturbance
- Experience leading workshops and facilitating groups (adults and youth).
