The following positions are open at Medinah School District 11:

• Substitute Teachers, District Retirees, & Long-Term Teachers
• Teacher Assistants/Paraprofessionals
• Library Media Specialist

Pay:

• $130/day, $175/day - substitute teachers & long-term substitutes
• $15.72/HR - teacher's assistant/paraprofessional
• $15.72/HR – substitute library media specialist

State minimum requirements:

• Substitute Teacher: completion of 60 college semester hours
• Long-Term Substitute Teacher: Bachelor’s degree
• Library Media Specialist: Valid Paraprofessional Certificate or Valid Professional Educator License (PEL)
• Teachers Assistant/Paraprofessional: 19 years old, HS diploma/GED and pass ParaPro or Work Keys test.

Job Descriptions:

• Substitutes: Leading instruction in the classroom by following the teacher’s existing lesson plans, motivate students to learn, and encourage classroom participation, and create a classroom environment that’s conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
• Library Media Specialist: Shelves, files, and repairs library materials, assists students and faculty in the use of the card catalog, search computer terminals, basic and electronic reference sources, and in finding library/media center materials.
• Teachers Assistant/Paraprofessional: Provide classroom assistance to the district/school teacher and supporting the needs of general education or special needs students, reinforcing learning concepts presented through lesson plans—individually or in small groups, ensuring students are never left unattended in the classroom, and assist students in transition to and from classrooms.
