POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Einstein's major strength, in addition to training physicains ans scientists, is its science. During fiscal year 2015, the faculty's consistenly high level of scientific achievement resulted in the awarding of more than $50 million in peer-reviewed grants from the National Institutes of Health.
This research study will evaluate the effectiveness of multi-level strategies to improve provider adoption of asthma management guidelines in Montefiore clinical practices that care for children with asthma. The goal of the project is to improve delivery of asthma care and clinical outcomes for children ages 2-12 years with asthma. This study is funded by National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) for 5 years. The study coordinator manages research project activities to ensure study protocol is followed as written and approved by the Montefiore Einstein IRB.
- Work with Research Coordinator and PI to develop the study protocol and protocol amendments for the IRB as needed
- Prepares reports related to the project
- Arranges meetings with study sites medical directors and nursing staff, develop meeting agendas, PowerPoint presentations, and presents at meetings
- Conducts literature searches and writing literature reviews
- Assist with preparation of conference abstracts, prepares oral presentations and poster presentations and participates in the development of manuscripts for publication
- Oversees medical chart reviews to ensure additional study related data is obtained and potential study participants are identified
Travels to clinical sites to oversee subject recruitment and provides enrollment updates at weekly meetings - Oversees telephone follow up surveys with participants and ensures that they are conducted within specific time frame; ensures consistent practices and data integrity and completeness
- Track participants throughout the study and help manage the tracking database and ensures integrity of data
- Monitors study-related data, checks data for accuracy and assists with data analysis
- Maintains regular communication with staff at research clinic sites and works closely with clinic staff at the study sites to ensure that our program is being implemented efficiently but also meeting the needs of the office staff without disrupting flow in the busy offices
- Work with clinic champions along with Research Coordinator and PI to ensure program implementation and practices
- Meet regularly with the Research Coordinator, other team members and the PI to review the study’s progress
- Reviews work products for staff to ensure study protocol is followed as written and approved by the IRB.
- Assisting with Spanish / English translation of materials
- Provides oversight of student research assistants and volunteers
- Other duties as assigned to this project or any other ongoing asthma research projects
- Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s degree preferred
- Bilingual in English and Spanish required
- 1-2 years of relevant experience is preferred
- Strong computer skills: familiarity with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel are required; ACCESS, Redcap, and SPSS are a plus
- Detail-oriented
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities while working as part of a team
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while adhering to study protocol.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
