The Learning Center is proud to offer a variety of academic support services to help our students develop better academic success skills and meet their goals.

Position Overview

The Coordinator for Academic Support Services oversees the campus-wide academic coaching program. This includes, but is not limited to, curriculum and resource development, supervision of academic coaches, collaboration with various departments, program growth and evaluation, and budget oversight.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in related field and two years of student services, student affairs,
counseling, advising, or related experience; or any equivalent combination of education,
training and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent public speaking skills with experience in conducting training workshops.
  • Ability to provide leadership and mentoring to student populations.
  • Experience in networking across departments and programs.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to simultaneously execute multiple
projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, and computer skills.
  • Some experience in customer service is preferred.

Job Duties

o

Coordinates all areas associated with academic support services. This includes academic coach hiring, training, on-going training and professional development and budget management.


o

Creates and maintains academic coaching curriculum and resources for successful coaching experiences for students.


o

Collaborates with faculty, staff, and departments across campus to create working relationships that promote academic coaching.


o

Hires, trains, supervises, and provides professional development opportunities to graduate assistant.


o

Creates and maintains technology associated with successful implementation of academic coaching program. This includes, but is not limited to, scheduling platform, cardswipe information, and online content.


o

Oversees workshops hosted by the Learning Center. This includes topics, schedule, and manner of instruction.


o

Positively represents the Learning Center at various events on and off campus. This includes, but is not limited to, conferences, committees, campus events, and orientation.


o

Develops and maintains assessments and evaluations of academic success programs policies and procedures in order to effectively implement needed changes for program improvements.


o

Records, maintains, and analyzes data related to program usage, effectiveness, and coach performance, and uses data for advancement and innovation.
