Student Food Service Worker
Job description
Student food service workers assist in the dietary department by cleaning, serving, clearing trays, and help with set up for food service. Students typically work between 4 and 10 hours per week, afternoons/early evening and weekends. Extra-curricular activities can generally be accommodated in scheduling.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responds to guests and residents needs as appropriate.
- Clears and cleans assigned areas when meals are finished.
- Assists with special events as required, including transporting food, beverages, etc. as needed.
- Empties trash and recyclables from dining and kitchen areas as directed.
- Washes dishes and operates dishwasher.
- Puts clean dishes, pots, pans utensils, etc. away after being cleaned.
- Performs other related functions and general cleaning as required.
- All other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to communicate in a pleasant and professional manner with supervisors, guests, employees, and residents of St. Joseph Center.
- Ability to effectively cope with a variety of personalities and responsibilities in a variety of situations.
- Ability to be attentive to details.
- Ability to work as a team player, following instructions, learning routines, and carrying out responsibilities so that dining times run smoothly.
- Ability to receive and carryout verbal instructions.
Successful applicants must pass state-required drug and background screens and have proof of COVID vaccination.
