Hiring Range: $56,377.59 - $67,653.10/Annually


JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Under the direction of the Associate Dean of The College of Medicine – Student Affairs, this position oversees the daily operations/activities of the office of Student Affairs in the College of Medicine. Incumbent also serves as a resource and primary contact for medical students, faculty, and outside stakeholders. In addition, this person navigates the challenges of medical school and beyond by providing programming and services that connect students to resources and co-curricular education and activities.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identifies underlying operational issues, assists in problem-solving, and boosts efficiency within the Office of Student Affairs.
  • Serves as the key coordinator of all Student Affairs events, such as orientations, Match Day, commencement, and award ceremonies.
  • Provides resources and advisement for medical students, faculty, and outside stakeholders.
  • Participates in the development of new programs, identification of problems, and development and implementation of strategic solutions.
  • Facilitates implementation of AAMC Careers in Medicine program in concert with the Associate Dean, Assistant Deans, and specialty advisers.
  • Establishes and maintains efficient data collection systems (scholarship processing, MSPEs, events' scheduling).
  • Works with the Associate Dean and student leadership (student organizations and Medical Student Executive Council) to develop wellness initiatives and programming aimed at reducing stress and boosting resilience in medical students.
  • Participates in the scholarship process for incoming students and coordinates with Admissions, Financial Aid, and the Registrar's office to ensure timely and accurate allocation of awards.
  • Documents Student Affairs productivity measures and timely submission of reports.
  • Provides security, confidentiality, and appropriate retention and storage of all data according to federal laws and university policies.
  • Disseminates information and resources based on best practices in medical student career advising.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Teaching, or Higher Education Student Services or related field of study. (Master’s Degree preferred). (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)


EXPERIENCE: Four (4) years of Higher Education/Management experience; OR an equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Proficiency in data management software; expertise in Microsoft Office/Office 365/Outlook/Teams.
  • Advanced knowledge of platforms like Zoom, Campus Labs Engage and GivePulse.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with media-hosting, Calendly, Doodle, and development of digital resources.
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

WORK SCHEDULE: This position may be occasionally required to work evenings and weekends. May require occasional overnight travel.
