The College of Nursing has an opening for a full-time, State Classified Student Affairs Assistant (Administrative Assistant II) position.
Job Summary:
The University of Colorado, College of Nursing has an opening for full-time (1.00 FTE) Classified Staff position as a Student Affairs Assistant The CU Nursing Student Affairs Assistant is responsible for a variety of duties and responsibilities in support of the Director of Admissions and Student Affairs, the Admissions Manager, and the Admissions and Student Affairs Team including providing administrative support, monitoring the front desk for student questions and inquires, and supporting data entry related to the admissions process. Assignments may include compiling and analyzing data, coordinating multiple concurrent activities, and interacting with students in various programs. The Student Affairs Assistant cares for the needs of the prospective and current students, guests, and vendors of the College of Nursing.
Examples of Work Performed:
General Administrative Support (50%)
- Acts as a front desk receptionist for the Admission and Student Affairs Team of the CU College of Nursing on the Anschutz Medical Campus.
- Assists current and prospective students by providing information on student services processes including admissions, enrollment, financial aid, study space, labs, etc.
- Answering general questions from students, faculty, staff, and other constituents, including directing individual to the appropriate member of the Admissions and Student Affairs Team, or other CU Nursing teams.
- Process incoming Admissions and Student Affairs mail, voicemail, faxes, and other external communication as needed.
- Monitors office supplies/inventory of the Admissions and Student Affairs Team including marketing collateral, event supplies, office materials, and promotional products and reorganizes storage as needed.
- Manages central email inboxes for Admissions and Student Affairs, addressing inquiries and routing requests as required with an emphasis on timely, high-quality service.
- Enter data from various sources into Admissions and Student Affairs databases with an emphasis on accuracy and consistent data entry practices.
- Maintains Admissions and Student Affairs bulletin boards, brochure racks, and other information areas with transfer guides, career information, enrollment literature, etc.
- Oversees the scheduling of Admissions and Student Affairs team staff meetings, prepares meeting agenda and minutes. Distributes minutes in a timely fashion.
- Supports all student affairs planned events and functions, including but not limited to assisting with catering, event marketing, set-up and tear-down.
- Analyzes and makes recommendations for office operational needs, including equipment, workflow, and materials.
- Assists with communications from Admissions and Student Affairs to staff, faculty, and students.
- Assist in the management of student workers including scheduling and job assignments, and campus tour management.
- Schedules appointments and assists with check in/check out processes for such as new student orientations, and other services with advisors, counselors, and other staff.
Admissions Data Entry (35%)
- Performs data entry tasks associated with the intake of admissions supporting documents.
- Accurately evaluates application materials, organize files and coordinate information for a timely admission review.
- Provides comprehensive and accurate applicant statistical information (e.g. GPA) based on evaluation of academic credentials.
- Ensures that all applications adhere to the University and CU Nursing policies and procedures as it relates to admission requirements and application processing. Collaboratively resolves discrepancies in the application files prior to final admission being issued.
Procurement and Expenses (15%)
- Assists with reporting/tracking of student employee hours.
- Use of purchasing systems (Concur, CU Marketplace, etc.) to place orders as necessary for Admissions and Student Affairs personnel.
- Monitors Admissions and Student Affairs expenses by gathering and reporting budget information; facilitating and monitoring invoices and purchase orders, scheduling and reconciling expenditures.
Salary & Benefits:
- Hiring Salary Range: $3,013 - $3,453 per month ($36,156 - $41,438 per year).
- The salary offered is usually the minimum listed, however, a salary above the minimum may be offered for some hard to fill positions and/or in recognition of prior and applicable skills, experience, certifications, etc.
- This position is eligible for overtime compensation

Minimum Qualifications:
- Two years of experience in an occupational field related to admissions, student affairs, customer service, and/or business administration.
- Must be a resident of the State of Colorado at the time of application.
Substitution: Appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
