Steel Ventures, Inc., owned by Steel Dynamics, Inc., has recently built a new galvanizing plant in Wurtland, Kentucky which employs over 100 people. This plant coats a wide variety of products from Steel Ventures affiliated company, Steel of West Virginia, and others including truck trailer cross members, I-beams, solar posts as well as complex fabricated assemblies and parts for other customers.

We have an immediate need for a Shipping Coordinator. This is a full-time position with benefits. We are looking for a motivated applicant who is prepared to join the team and assist in shipping high quality, American made galvanized products across the country and around the world.

Job Responsibilities

Communicate with trucking companies and logistics brokers on daily truck bookings and truck scheduling. Communicate with truck drivers on directions and general facility information.

Create shipment schedules in conjunction with production departments.

Communicate daily with customer logistic contacts on delivery ETAs and shipment schedule updates.

Organize and store shipping documents in accordance with company procedures.

Other responsibilities as determined by management.

Job Requirements

Customer service or logistics background preferred

Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written

Strong Microsoft Office skills, primarily Excel, Word, and Outlook

Schedule: will vary depending on shipping schedule, but generally M-F, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with some Saturdays.
