Job description

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a range of statistical analyses to support both survey and non-survey datasets. This could include descriptive analysis, multivariate regression, predictive models, trend analysis, cluster analysis, and other approaches
  • Apply established methods, modeling techniques, and procedures in conducting analysis to improve sample surveys and to evaluate data collection, reduction, and processing
  • Write SAS code and perform validation of codes. Perform migrations and verifications
  • Conduct parallel coding and validation to ensure accuracy of work; assist with processing, editing and quality checks of survey data
  • Identify data quality issues and develop recommendations on how to resolve those issues to ensure data completeness, consistency, and accuracy
  • Conduct survey non-response bias analysis to assess whether there are systematic differences in survey response patterns based on respondent or program characteristics
  • Conduct trend analysis to evaluate changes over time in survey response patterns by data collection mode, respondent demographics, and other variables as specified
  • Develop documentation for all analyses to include storage location of all files (i.e., program code, data sets, output); thoroughly document program code and monitor use of disk storage, archiving data sets when not in use
  • Contribute to project reports and presentations, including memos summarizing interim project findings and reports describing survey and statistical methodology
  • Make specific policy and program recommendations to internal and external stakeholders based on independent analysis of data
  • Independently perform SAS programming and analysis for a variety of datasets, data structures, database summaries, listings, tables, and database applications
  • Independently collect, join, and analyze data from multiple sources; apply statistical theories and methods to solve complex issues

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in survey methodology and using statistical techniques for analyzing data from complex surveys
  • 5+ years of experience working with CMS datasets such as IDR, OnePI, or CCW
  • 5+ years of experience using SAS statistical analysis software (required); SAS VIYA or SPSS a plus for data mining and visualization
  • 3 years of experience using data management and visualization tools such as SQL, Tableau, Qlik, R, Python, or Power BI
  • Experience with health surveys (preferred)
  • Experience working with Fraud, Waste, and Abuse (FWA) analytics (preferred)
  • Master’s degree or higher in health sciences, social sciences, statistics, or a related field
