JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage the day to day operations of a Vehicle Emissions Testing Facility; supervise 5-10 employees including Assistant Managers, Lane Inspectors, and Support Staff involved in the emissions testing process. Work in fast-paced environment with a focus on safety and adherence to company and federal guidelines.
• Coordinate work schedules by forecasting staffing requirements. Conduct 90-day and annual merit reviews.
• Hire proficient station personnel; provide in-depth, on-the-job training for new employees. Provide safety training program to ensure a safe environment for employees and customer. Complete accident and near-miss investigations as warranted.
• Training Provided to all Managers in order understand the function of and perform visual inspections of emission control devices.
• Supervise facility and equipment maintenance such as repairs, painting, snow removal, grounds keeping, and janitorial upkeep.
• Provide positive employee morale and ensure good public relations and customer service.
• Oversee facility paperwork, supplies, and parts inventory. Provide weekly and monthly operation activity reports to the District Manager and HQ. Keep the facility within budget and in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 2-4 years Management experience required; Bachelor Degree a plus
• Exceptional communication/customer service skills a must
• Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment desired
• Must have valid Maryland Driver License
• No automotive experience necessary, but helpful

Physical Demands

Working in an area with high noise level, exposure to exhaust fumes and extreme weather conditions. Occasional lifting 75 lbs. from ground to chest level. Frequent walking, bending, and stooping.
