This position is responsible for providing management with financial information by researching, analyzing accounts, and preparing financial statements.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare and file indirect tax returns for North America.
• Prepare and file business & occupation taxes, sales taxes, gaming taxes, Nevada occupancy taxes, gaming licenses, and any accruals as needed.
• Maintain W2G and 1042S tracking and filing as well as coordinate with treasury for payments.
• File amended returns, refund requests, and handle any tax notices received for corresponding transaction tax returns.
• Reconcile tax liability accounts against accounts receivable reports. Work on assigned indirect tax audits, and work collaboratively with jurisdictions and state audit representatives.
• Prepare registrations with taxing authorities for new sales and use filings, as needed,
• Advise management regarding effects of business activities on taxes and on strategies for minimizing tax liability.
• Ensures that the organization complies with periodic tax payment, information reporting, and other taxing authority required deadlines
• Organizes and maintains tax records and conducts tax studies and special projects
• Research and resolve tax issues for multiple states.
• Answers tax and accounting questions by researching and interpreting data.
• Other duties assigned as needed

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• Experience as a Staff Accountant or similar role
• Eligible to sit for CPA exam preferred, but not required
• Recent tax experience – 2 years minimum

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to work in a fast-paced, office environment. Must be able to sit for long periods of time, speak and hear, write, finger and feel, lift and carry up to twenty pounds (20 lbs) and occasionally more. Requires all forms of manual dexterity and mobility throughout the shift. Employee occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and work occasional weekend and/or evenings. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
