Classification: 1 Part Time- Benefits Eligible Position, 1 Part Time, 2 Per Diem Positions.

  • Part Time Benefits Eligible Position: 3:00PM-11:00PM, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (32 Hours/Week)
  • Part Time Position: Tuesdays from 7:00AM-3:30PM and Saturday from 7:00AM-11:30PM (24 Hours/Week)
  • Per Diem Positions: 2 Shifts per month, One summer & One winter holiday.

Position Description: The role of the Staff Nurse is in the focus of maintain and supporting the Long Term Structured Residential (LTSR) patient's health, behavioral, cognitive and spiritual goals. Maintaining data collection and biometric reports to assist the Primary Care Nurse and the treatment team to make informed care plans.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Consistently demonstrates professional behavior and uphold the Nurses Code of Ethics as accepted by the American Nursing Association.
  • Provides the minimal assistance needed to assure the safe and consistent administration of medications/treatments to the LTSR patients.
  • Consistently promote compliance to prescribed medical treatments, healthy lifestyle choices remembering to maintain a mind/body balance.
  • Provide nursing care according to the physician's orders and with recognized nursing practice, established standards set by evidenced based practice.
  • Support patients by administering prescribed as needed medications to allow relief of symptoms so patients may engage in the therapeutic process with the clinical staff.
  • Maintain understanding of individualized global can plan for patients residing in the LTSR (including medical, behavioral, cognitive, and spiritual aspects).
  • Participate in self-medication administration goals for all individuals based on patient strengths.
  • Foster 1:1 relationship building meetings with the LTSR patients. (Building relationships outside of the patient/nurse relationship to increase trust and communication.)
  • Participate in Monthly Nursing meetings as possible/read the nursing meeting minutes, treatment team minutes and weekly updates to assure understanding of ongoing changes in the LTSR.
  • Attends leisure outings or medical appointments as needed.
  • Provide ADL support to patients, including completion or direct monitoring of daily hygiene, feeding and other ADL skills as needed.
  • Monitors and ensures adherence to proper dietary restrictions including qualitative, quantitative and consistency of dietary intake. Makin adjustments as indicated by individuals changing condition during all meals.
  • Completion of daily, weekly and monthly documentation as assigned by the Nurse Manager, or delegated by the Primary Care Nurse.
  • Absolute compliance with internal and external regulations, policies, and procedures. Always adhering to the highest standard of care when discrepancies arise.
  • Absolute compliance with use of Universal Precautions. Ongoing incidental education to others about PPE.
  • Immediate/Timely reporting of all crisis and unusual incidents to the nurse manager and/or LTSR Director. Completion of an episode nursing note in addition to the shift report notes.
  • Maintaining accurate records of all controlled substances, narcotics and sharps in accordance with applicable internal policies, state and federal laws.

Job Qualifications:

  • Current PA RN license plus at least 1 year Mental Health Experience Preferred OR
  • Current PA LPN plus 2 years Mental Health Experience.
