Position Summary:

This Aerodynamic Design Engineer role serves as an analytical specialist performing detailed aerodynamic design and analysis of high-speed turbomachinery. This primarily involves the detailed design of the flow path for centrifugal compressors and turbines. In this role you will complete challenging analyses and designs and asked to help mentor more junior engineers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead challenging design and analysis efforts regarding flow path design for high-speed compressors and turbines. Meet all requirements, including technical capability, schedule milestones, and budgetary constraints, with minimal oversight.

Complete documentation on aerodynamic processes and guidelines.

Function in a team environment to drive organizational success and improve BN processes. Delegate work and provide oversight to more junior Staff Engineers.

Additional assignments may also include the design of pumps and fans.

Requirements:

To qualify for this position, an individual must possess the knowledge, training, experience and abilities required as follows:

Education and Training

Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineer or

equivalent combination of education and experience working in high aptitude

manufacturing environment.

Experience:

Minimum 10+ years related experience and/or training in a fluid/gas dynamics and

thermodynamics role.


Proven rotating machinery expertise and experience with associated systems.


Comprehensive understanding of rotating machinery design, analysis, test, and

troubleshooting.


Experience with a CFD software package is required (ANSYS CFX and Bladegen preferred)


Coding experience required (MATLAB preferred)


3D CAD modelling experience required (SolidWorks preferred)

Additional Requirements:

Overtime may be required

Travel on rare occasions

Desired Job Qualification:

Experience in Ansys and Solidworks.

Applicable training certificates (FEA, CFD, etc) and successful completion of the Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) or Fundamentals of

Engineering (F.E.) are desirable.

A Colorado State Professional Engineer License is desirable.

Hiring Salary Range: $120,000 - $140,000

Note: The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. This position is eligible for bonus.
