Job description

This is a contract to hire Staff Accountant position at a leading non-profit organization headquartered in Bedford Stuyvesant Brooklyn, NY.

This position offers a pay rate of $35-$40/hr. The position is fully in-house.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Must be highly proficient in QuickBooks Online
• This role is a critical component to the company's success and financial health.
• Performs Accounts Receivable/Payable functions including invoicing, manual check application, aging reports, and account reconciliation
• Enters routine journal entries and bank transactions
• Enters AP bills and credit card transactions if needed
• Performs month-end closing and reconciliation
• Reconciles, investigates, corrects, and adjusts accounting information
• Performs bank reconciliation
• Supports department peers as needed

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of Accounting experience, preferable in a Non-Profit organization
• 2-4 year college degree
• Expert Knowledge of QuickBooks Online

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
