Job Title: Staff Accountant, GL Accounting

Job Location: RDU/HQA

Reports to: Manager, Operational Accounting

Job Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Operational Accounting, this position will work closely with the Operational accounting team and be responsible for assisting with many aspects of general ledger-related activities, including but not limited to, preparing accrual journal entries, preparing month-end close journal entries, and preparing GL account reconciliations in a collaborative team driven environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Performs month end close duties and associated journal entries
• Prepares accrual journal entries
• Completes assigned month-end tasks in a timely manner
• Review of invoice account coding before posting to ensure proper allocation of expense
• Support of quarterly inventory counts at the Airports
• Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the business operations, financial systems and the general ledger structure.
• Support audits of various Airport Authorities as required by the contract
• Account Reconciliations at the end of each month
• Review and approve coding for purchase requests and accounts payable vouchers in the procurement/purchasing software (Ivalua)
• Support system maintenance needs of Ivalua
• Support external audit by providing necessary PBC items
• Assist in special projects and/or other areas as assigned by manager

Requirements

• BS/BA in Accounting.
• Minimum 3 years working in an Operational Accounting, General Ledger Accounting, or other accounting role to include monthly close activities.
• High integrity, solid work ethic and exceptionally detail oriented.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, evolving environment and meet close deadlines.
