Meriwether Godsey, a contract-dining food service company operating in the Mid-Atlantic, is seeking a Full-time Staff Accountant responsible for assisting in the maintenance of the company's accounting systems and financial possesses in an accurate and timely manner, including periodic closes, financial reporting, and reconciliations. Our ideal candidate must live in the Lynchburg regional area

What you will do:

• Perform balance sheet reconciliations, including bank reconciliations

• Prepare journal entries

• Answer accounting questions as requested and train field personnel on processes and procedures

• Assist in tax and regulatory compliance reporting

• Other duties as appropriate to assist the F&A Team, including the Senior Accountant and Director of F&A

• Back up client billing and accounts payable processes as needed

• Protect the company’s value by keeping information confidential

• Perform all duties in accordance with finance and accounting best practices

• Regular and predictable attendance

What you will need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting plus 3 years' experience in a similar field preferred

• Proficient in MS Office, with advanced skills in Excel

• Experience with ERP systems (i.e. Sage, Workday)

• Knowledge of Google Sheets and Docs

• Comfortable with financial data and a demonstrated ability to work independently

• Possess sound problem-solving, organizational, and prioritization skills

• Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others

• Internally motivated, able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and prioritize to meet deadlines under pressure.

• Demonstrated ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality and discretion.

• Demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills and maintain composure under deadline pressures
