Based on full time (40 hours/week). Prorate if less than 40 hours/week. Paid in two installments: 50% on first paycheck, 50% on paycheck following 6-month anniversary.


About you.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, and five or more years of accounting experience. Healthcare and/or not-for-profit experience is a plus, as is payroll processing and accounts payable knowledge. The selected candidate will have a strong customer service focus and attention to detail.

About the team.

The Financial Services team is responsible for all things financial at AuMHC - we bill and collect for services, pay the bills and employees, and report and analyze financial results. The team includes Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Accounting Specialists, Staff Accountants, Payroll, Housing Coordinators and team leaders.


About the role.

The Staff Accountant will work closely with the Accounting Manager and Controller to ensure proper recording and reporting of transactions in accordance with GAAP. This role will also assist with Payroll and Accounts Payable as needed.


Responsibilities:

  • Analyze accounting data, test for reasonableness and verify accuracy to prepare financial reports according to GAAP and company accounting and financial guidelines for management department heads and external agencies on a regular basis.
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations, develop and maintains spreadsheets to analyze and simplify financial data.
  • Maintain fixed asset sub ledger and prepare depreciation and other schedules for capital assets.
  • Analyze general ledger, including preparation and input of journal entries, as appropriate.
  • Perform general monthly close for multiple corporate entities.
  • Prepare financial statements for AuMHC subsidiaries and present to Executive Directors.
  • Assist in annual audit and preparation of audit schedules.
  • Review revenues and expenses, as assigned.
  • Reconcile unclaimed property accounts and submit reporting to state.
  • Enter budget information as needed.
  • Cross trains with other accounting staff and provides backup as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Four or more years' accounting experience in a complex environment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel and Access.
  • Detail oriented. Able to perform complex tasks and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting software and audit processes.

Salary for this role.
(based on experience and company equity)

  • $48,871.20 - $73,306.80 Annually
