Amazon Pharmacy is looking for a customer experience and data driven senior experienced vendor and sourcing manager with a high degree of start-up enthusiasm, inventiveness, and elbow grease. This role will both own building the Amazon Pharmacy product selection and availability strategy as well as launch execution. The role will also set the course for long term scale and growth for both Amazon Pharmacy and PillPack product assortment. The role will have oversight to new store selection planning (public service launch), and inputs to forecasting methodology, sourcing optimization, and inventory management. Additionally this role will have significant influence over new product opportunities, including specialty products, and developing requirements and programs to support commercial dispensing of these products.
The Sr. Vendor Manager will lead the Amazon Pharmacy and PillPack selection strategy based on the customer population we serve, taking into account the growth and profitability goals of both the B2C and B2C business. Within the first year in role, this individual contributor will develop the selection strategy for the public launch of Amazon Pharmacy, support strategic store launch purchases, develop a selection expansion roadmap, and strongly influence the category team’s organizational and team trajectory.
Key job responsibilities
The Sr. Vendor Manager will help lead the Amazon Pharmacy and PillPack selection strategy based on the customer population we serve, taking into account the growth and profitability goals of both the B2C and B2C business.
Targeting manufacturers that will help scale the business, improve the continuity of supply and improving acquisition costs.
Will help identify OTC/Vitamin category expansion within Amazon Pharmacy, selecting optimal vendors to help scale and create a vision for this category within the pharmacy.
Within the first year in role, this individual contributor and strongly influence the category team’s organizational and team trajectory.
The ideal candidate for this role will have an MBA or equivalent, highly comfortable with data (reporting, various tooling, analysis), experience with building an assortment/ catalog strategy, and a strong understanding of therapeutic categories and market applicability. The candidate will also have existing knowledge or experience in pharmaceutical sourcing and familiarity with top manufacturers and wholesalers by product category. Experience with quality/ compliance in the pharmacy supply chain space is a “plus”. The candidate will have a high degree of comfort in ambiguity, leading through confusion with clear ideas supported by data, plans, and deliverables. The candidate will have the ability to envision both the short term and the long term, and adjust expectations and plan of action accordingly. The candidate also demonstrates clear, concise, written and oral communication.
The base pay range for this position is $121,200 - 163,900 per year. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on payment and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
