The Role

Tesla Energy is looking for an amazing system integration engineer who is seeking a challenge and passionate about our mission to accelerate the transition to sustainable energy. As a system integration engineer, you will be responsible for performing electrical, mechanical and software integration and system testing of the next generation industrial storage products. Responsibilities

  • Perform hardware and firmware integration of the next generation industrial storage products.
  • Lead and own firmware validation, new features definition, firmware regression, and firmware releases.
  • Lead and own test plan definition for new products with continuous feedback for new hardware revisions.
  • Embedded firmware validation in C, C++.
  • System debugging during design, launch, and deployment.
  • Key leader of FMEA as part of the product design, integration, and test process.
  • Identify areas of concern and work cross-functionally to develop solutions for hardware/software problems on complex high power/high voltage products.
  • Design and implement the next generation test systems to facilitate fast and automated firmware regression tests at system level.
Requirements
  • BS or higher in engineering related field.
  • Experience in integration, testing and bring-up of complex hardware/software systems.
  • Exceptional analytical problem solving skills, able to identify and surface issues within complex hardware/software systems.
  • Strong EE fundamentals in electrical system design, electronic circuit design, and controls theory.
  • Experience with C/C++, Python.
  • Effective communicator and excellent attention to detail.
Preferred
  • Understanding of hardware and software development process.
  • Proficiency with test equipment (e.g. oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.)
  • Fluent with the embedded microprocessor design process: compilers, debuggers, and Git.
  • Working understanding of how grid-tied storage systems function and interact with the grid.
  • Experience working with high power and/or high voltage (1kVDC, 480VAC) products.
