Job Summary and Qualifications
The Sr Scrum Master is a facilitator for an agile development team working under the scrum methodology. The Scrum Master serves as a point person responsible for understanding the big development picture of each sprint. They are responsible for delegating tasks appropriately and ensuring the team is working on the right tasks at the right time. They also want to ensure the team is fully deployed and not idle. The role of Sr Scrum Master often involves working closely with the product owner to translate epics, stories, and other items on the sprint list into actionable tasks for developers. The Sr Scrum Master is responsible for the process success—for helping the product owner and the team use the right process to create a successful product, for facilitating organizational change and establishing an agile way of working. Consequently, the Scrum Master collaborates with the product owner and the development team closely. Scum Master demonstrates expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. May provide consultation on complex projects and is considered to be the top level contributor/specialist. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. This position reports to the Manager of Labor Management Systems.
- Plans and estimates the highest value deliverables with the scrum team for the next release by working closely with the development team and product owner.
Uses iteration management to deliver demoable results every sprint.
Guides and coaches the scrum team on how to use Agile practices and principles to deliver high quality products and services to our customers.Responsible for ensuring scrum is understood and the team adheres to scrum theory, practice, and guidelines.
Gets team to a high performing level by recognizing areas of strength and improvement and employing appropriate coaching and development techniques.
Coaches the scrum team in self-organization, cross-functional skillset, domain knowledge and communicates effectively, both
Works with scrum team, as well as internal and external stakeholders, to influence and drive decision making and support organizational project or product teams.
Resolves team impediments to increase the effectiveness of the application of scrum in the organization.
Works with Agile coaches and other scrum masters to grow within the role.
Contributes to the advancement and improvement of Agile practices within the organization.
Facilitates and supports all scrum events: Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective.
Communication
- Keep business partners updated on active issues and efforts to resolve.
- Work closely with business partners to translate highly technical information and activities into meaningful knowledge to support decision making.

What qualifications you will need:
- Bachelors Degree required
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) preferred
- Five or more years relevant work experience required, 7 years experience preferred
Other desired qualifications
- Well-developed communication skills working with both technical and functional audiences are required.
- Functional knowledge of IT&S processes
- Able to get things done across IT&S organization lines
- Problem Management skills. Demonstrated proficiency in problem determination, tracking, escalation and resolution
- Strong negotiating skills
- High energy level, sense of urgency, creativity, decisiveness, and ability to work well under pressure.
- Able to balance demands of multiple assignments
- Experience with Labor Management systems desired.
- Application troubleshooting experience required.
- Long-term application support experience preferred.
- Root-cause analysis experience preferred.
- Willingness to learn our business domain required.
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal) required.
- Agile experience preferred.
Office work environment including prolonged sitting at computer.
