Overview:Summary: The primary focus for this position is to support the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) team in the development, implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of Strata Solar, LLC’s EHS programs, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements within an assigned region.
Responsibilities:Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership for EHS staff within assigned region.
  • Manages the maintenance and implementation of EHS programs, compliance plans, and initiatives in assigned region.
  • Reviews, recommends, and/or implements new policies, programs, procedures, or equipment.
  • Oversees ongoing company training needs, health and safety inspections, and/or audits of facilities, sites, operations, equipment and processes to ensure compliance of Corporate Safety, environmental and governmental (DOT, OSHA, local agencies) policies and regulations.
  • Identifies program operations cost and provides input to annual budget preparation.
  • Keeps safety credentials current.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises: EHS Specialists.
  • Work Experience Requirements:
  • Demonstrated awareness and understanding of EHS policy and management system, the importance of conforming to EHS policies and procedures, and consequences of failing to comply with EHS policies and procedures.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal codes as they apply to all aspects of solar construction and construction equipment and tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate environmental health and safety related risks.
  • Knowledge of record-keeping principles and practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate potential EHS-related risks.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and with a team with attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team and provide direction for direct reports.
  • Ability to read and interpret contractual agreements and terms and conditions.
  • Ability to travel 75% or more of the time.
  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.

Qualifications:Education/Experience Requirements:

  • BS in Occupational Health and Safety (preferred) or 5 years of experience in a related field.
  • Must have knowledge of DOT/DOL/EPA regulation and OSHA/industrial safety compliance as they relate to the power generation industry.
  • Professional Certification/License (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire): STS, CHST/OHST, ASP, CSP, or other recognized professional safety certification.
  • Skills/Abilities:
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures.
  • Effective organization and planning skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to safely drive a company vehicle.
  • Demonstrated ability to use standard office software programs, including spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and audiovisual presentations.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:*

  • The environmental conditions for this job range from indoor activity to inclement outdoor extremes of cold, heat, wind and various forms of precipitation. The widest variance of noise is also encountered.
  • Ability to walk and perform routine site inspections.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry objects such as projectors and PCs weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, standing, and walking significant distances.
  • Visual ability (20/20 corrected or uncorrected) to observe and detect signs of danger.
