Position Title: Senior Program Director for Healthy Living

Reports to: V.P Healthy Living & Social Responsibility

FLSA Status: Exempt

Prepared Date: October 27, 2022

Salary Range: $60,000-75,000 commensurate with experience.


Summary

Leads the overall member experience at the Northern Middlesex YMCA by driving membership campaigns, sales, retaining members and creating an overall exceptional member experience for health & wellness. Oversees the membership, aquatics, and fitness functions. Ensure the highest level of customer service to meet the needs of members and community partners. Reports to and supports the Vice President for Healthy Living & Social Responsibility


Qualifications

  • YMCA experience preferred.
  • 8 or more years of marketing and supervisory experience.
  • Data driven decision maker with high energy and vision.
  • Ability to direct assigned operations including revenue generation, supervision of staff, development, and monitoring of budgets, marketing and public relations, and program development.
  • Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations of employees and membership.
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with the community: nonprofit organizations, corporate, medical, and government – both state and local.
  • Demonstrated ability to define, refine and implement sales processes, procedures and policies.
  • Experience managing staff and contributing toward the development of department strategies.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and collaboration skills.

Essential Functions


  • Directs and supervises year–round program activities, and wellness and aquatics directors, to meet YMCA objectives.
  • Promotes YMCA core values, association healthy living programs, (examples can include group exercise, individual and small group personal training, chronic disease prevention, Livestrong, the pools, and the wellness center).
  • Establish protocols for onboarding new members.
  • Develops and directs high quality member engagement strategies and programs which support the association's mission, goals, and strategies.
  • Maximizes revenue growth through the identification, development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of membership growth and service programs.
  • Oversees membership desk coordinator to ensure proper & timely billing to program participants with non-payment, incorrect payment or forward balances.
  • Manages, and monitors assigned operating budget to meet or exceed targets.
  • In conjunction with the VP, establishes long-range plans for the expansion of engagement strategies and related to membership in harmony with overall YMCA objectives.
  • Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals. Will oversee the recruiting of new employees.
  • Ensures adequate staffing levels at all times, securing substitutes when necessary.
  • Supports the overall objectives of the YMCA, and participates in all special events and activities.
  • Responsible for tracking reports for department targets, including revenue, forecasting, onboarding and member retention. Recommends adjustments to the budget to assure a balanced operation and submits reports on current operations.
