Risk Modeling and Analytics has an opening for an Allowance Credit Risk Analyst, Sr. This role is responsible for ensuring that processes used in the calculation and reporting of the Allowance for Credit Losses (ACL) comply with enterprise and regulatory requirements. The candidate will support Allowance governance routines, maintain process design documents, and assist with compiling documentation for audit/regulatory exams. The incumbent will work as part of the larger team to assist with reporting, identifying and analyzing credit risk and opining on the effectiveness of credit risk management activities. This position offers visibility to senior management, Risk/Finance partners, auditors and regulators. The successful candidate will be attentive to detail, a strong communicator and proficient in time management.
Job Responsibilities:
- Use data analytics to evaluate credit performance within the Consumer and Commercial loan portfolios
- Maintain appropriate reporting of risk management effectiveness within each loan portfolio.
- Closely monitor trends, industry/peer performance and the economic environment to assess any potential emerging issues
- Develop and monitor metrics/analysis based on portfolio performance
- Contribute to the bank’s quarterly Credit Pillar Risk Assessment exercises
- Prepare management-level presentations and board packages
- Manage allowance committee governance activities including maintaining calendars, charters, policies, and meeting minutes
- Perform SOX governance activities including control review and control execution
- Coordinate activities related to internal, external and regulatory exams
- Leverage existing data sources and problem-solving to develop solutions to address gaps in credit reporting risk
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 7 years of combined financial services experience in credit, and/or risk management
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in SAS, SQL or other data analytics tools
Preferred Qualifications/Competencies
- Ability to prepare concise presentations to communicate analytical findings to a wide array of audiences
- Experience driving strategic insights from credit portfolios
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
- Analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Self-initiative, effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail oriented with the ability to work under pressure to meet critical deadlines
- Effective cross-functional project, resource, and stakeholder management
Exempt Status: (Yes = not eligible for overtime pay) (No = eligible for overtime pay)
