Job Description Summary
Responsible for shift activities and directing the monitoring and evaluation of all physical security alarm systems and video systems for multiple Bank of the West facilities. Leads and evaluates the response of shift staff members during alarm activations and is responsible for directing request for dispatch and ensuring effective communication with local law enforcement personnel in response to emergency and crisis situations. Completes and reviews critical security incident reports, identifies errors and ensures proper distribution to key management personnel in a timely manner. Conducts on the job training of Security Operations Specialist and/or contract staff controllers ensuring proficiency for all related tasks.
Essential Job Functions
- Directs and oversees assigned shift monitoring of alarm activations and immediate visual assessments via CCTV systems. Ensures appropriate assessments are made and instills sound judgment of operations specialists and contract security controllers when requesting law enforcement response.
- Performs as Command and Control Center lead to evaluate and analyze situational events and determines appropriate communication response to management and law enforcement agencies during shift incidents. Ensures critical notifications are completed in accordance with established protocols and checklists.
- Controls and maintains a complete chronological record of all security incidents, alarm activations, and security activity that occurs during a shift. Identifies errors and directs correction of records prior to distribution and ensures appropriate records filing.
- Creates and reviews security incident reports, identifies errors and verifies that assigned shift distributes in a timely manner and in accordance with established guidelines and procedures.
- Ensures inoperable alarm and video equipment are properly documented and service repairs are promptly generated. Verifies that compensatory measures are in place until resolution of service issues are completed to ensure compliance with the Bank Protection Act (BPA).
- Performs detailed programming of security alarms panels and DVRs during installation and assists to isolate and troubleshoot inoperable equipment with service technicians.
- Completes assigned video reviews and search for video evidence and verifies that all requests are completed, tracked, and documented by shift personnel. Verifies that evidence identified by assigned shift is safeguarded and a chain of custody document is completed for distribution.
- Ensures appropriate activation and distribution of timely notification using the Bank's automated emergency notification system.
Other Job Duties
- Oversight of shift staff for the creation and processing of access control cards and ensures that cards that are reported as lost, stolen or terminated are properly deactivated in compliance with internal audit requirements.
- Conducts training of Security Operation Specialists and contract security controllers ensuring proficiency in all related tasks. Prepares shift members for evaluations and/or certifications.
- Provide shift liaison support to branch and back office personnel to resolve all physical security issues and answer questions.
- Directs shift response to maintain and update all records management documents.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Experience
- Requires broad knowledge of operational systems and practices typically gained through extensive experience and/or education.
- Requires 5 years minimum experience.
- May require vocational or technical education in addition to prior work experience.
Education
- Associate's Degree Criminal Justice or Security Administration
Skills
- Isolate and resolve problems quickly and proficiently.
- Analyze facts and principles and draw conclusions about specific task or subjects.
- Highly proficient computer and typing skills.
- Proficient with MS Office, Excel, Power Point and MS Word.
- Experience with UTC Mastermind Alarm Monitoring System.
- Experienced with technical programming of alarm systems and digital video recorders.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to speak clearly and concise using proper phone etiquette.
This position has the option to work in one of our key hubs (Omaha, NE)
Annual Hiring Range:
$52,080 - $66,080
Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level.
- In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for annual incentives.
- The base salary opportunity can vary based on candidate’s geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
