Sr. Network Engineer - TS/SCI Required - SIGN-ON BONUS
GDIT is seeking candidates to support the US Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM). Under the I2TS 3 task order, INSCOM ensures reliable, uninterrupted availability of Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Information Management (C4IM) including: networks, hardware, software, engineering, and specialized tools at the point of customer need to support INSCOM's mission. INSCOM and its MSCs provide the enabling layer to connect the Army and its tactical formations to defense and national intelligence agencies via tactical networks. The ability to provide mission critical intelligence is dependent on the successful use of its information technology (IT) networks worldwide.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
An I2TS3 Sr. Network Engineer will:
Act as lead in defining and executing network engineering activities within a project. Provide comprehensive definition of all aspects of network development from analysis of mission needs to verification of network performance
Analyze customer requirements, concept of operations documents, and high level Network architectures to develop network requirements and specifications
Ability to manage several projects simultaneously from design to implementation.
Guide users in formulating requirements, advises alternative approaches, and conducts feasibility studies
Ability to communicate technical information to other technical team members but also to coworkers in other departments who may not have knowledge of networking terminology.
Maintain current knowledge and understanding of networking best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to government systems.
Develop and maintain network architecture and network design documentation
Develop and design an implementation plan that meets the customer’s requirements.
Interact with the Government regarding networks engineering technical considerations and for associated problems.
Responsible for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Networks Engineering area of responsibility
Communicate with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives effectively
Ability to analyze and evaluate networks, identify issues and provide solutions to ensure networks are operating efficiently
Ensure efficient delivery of contract capabilities using industry standards and repeatable processes.
Required Skills / Experience:
Advanced experience designing, implementing and troubleshooting complex LAN/WAN environments running a variety of protocols and architectures to include:
Large Scale WAN utilizing cutting edge BGP concepts and OSPF
Tunnels, GRE, MGRE, DMVPN and IPSEC
Carrier Class Transport MPLS/MPBGP
LAN, HSRP, STP, VTP
Proven track record of highly effective root cause analysis and technical mentorship
Comprehensive understanding of routing protocols with a strong emphasis on at least one of the following:, OSPF, EIGRP, EBGP, IBGP, MPBGP
Working knowledge of route-maps, ACL’s, prefix lists, VRF’s and route-redistribution
Working knowledge of CISCO Identity Services Engine (ISE), DOT1X authentication and the ability to troubleshoot policy and access issues
Experience working with and upgrading various types of Cisco IOS
A Cisco professional level certification is required. (e.g. CCNP, CCDP, CCNP Data Center)
Familiarity with implementation and reporting of DoD networking technology STIGs.
Desirable Skills / Experience:
Experience with Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI), have the desire and drive to learn new technologies
Working knowledge of firewall operating systems including CISCO ASDM, Firepower Management Center (MFC), Firepower Threat Defense (FTD), and Palo Alto
Experience designing and implementing Quality of Service ( QOS )
Familiarity with network tools including NetBrain and/or SolarWinds.
Experience working with various Taclane platforms
Knowledge of network operating systems including JUNOS and Brocade
Education Required:
High School Diploma/GED with 10 years of related experience, or Associate's Degree with 8 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree with 6 years of experience, or Master's Degree with 4 years of experience
Certification(s):
DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II Computing Environment (CE) Certification as determined by the Program Manager is required prior to support on contract
Required Security Environment Certification: CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent
Computing Environment certification: minimum of CCNA to start and CCNP within 180 days of your start date. Of course, if you have CCNP is preferred to have individual that has this on day one.
Security Clearance:
TS/SCI required
Candidates must be willing and able to attain a CI Polygraph for certain positions as determined by the contract
