Job description
You will maintain HVAC, compressed air, kitchen, laundry, and other mechanical systems throughout the Disneyland Resort. The mechanical systems include central chiller plants, boiler plants, compressed air pants, and associated distribution systems. Work with operating engineers to resolve mechanical issues and support energy efficiency projects including energy management, system configuration management, and master planning of facilities and distribution systems. You will help plan the Resort's mechanical utilities and the development of GIS applications for the mechanical distribution systems. Work with partners in the development of mechanical standards and processes and will be the "Owner's Representative" for compliance to applicable codes, standards, and interface, as directed, with regulatory agencies. Provide "day of" response to mechanical issues relating to maintenance, repair, questions, and issues from the lines of business (LOB's). Collaborate with WDI and Resort partners for system expansion, special events, and the addition of new venues. You will report to the Manager, Utility and Energy management.
Responsibilities/You Will
Performance/management of HVAC system assessments and inspections to evaluate conditions, operations, and maintenance requirements of mechanical systems, and engineer mechanical and piping systems to comply with several project scopes of work following applicable standards and regulations.
Support Resort kitchens and laundry designs and help troubleshoot the systems.
Sustainability and energy efficiency program development, implementation, and system designs.
Develop and maintain system models and review mechanical /piping system designs created by in-house and outside designers for accuracy, adequacy, quality, and completeness.
Provide recommendations for mechanical /piping system improvements, enhancements, and replacements and ensure mechanical / piping projects comply with codes, e.g. California Building Code (CBC), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), American Society of the International Association for Testing and Materials (ASTM), EPA, California Division of Occupational Safety and Health (CAL-OSHA), applicable insurance underwriter requirements, Current Good Manufacturing Practice (CGMP), Industrial Ventilation Standards, American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) Standards, and Disneyland Resort standards.
Basic Qualifications/You Will Have
Professional Engineering License (PE) in the State of California.
6+ years of experience in the engineering design and repair of mechanical systems.
Background in chiller, boiler, HVAC, and compressed air systems and equipment.
Knowledge of Carrier Comfort Works and IVue, compressed air and natural gas distribution systems, pumps, meters and valves.
Knowledge of mechanical system safety.
Experience using computer-based mechanical engineering and design tools.
Proficiency in the use of applications Revit, Energy Pro, Trace, HAP.
Knowledge of CBC, UMC, UPC, OSHA, Title 24, Energy Pro, Thermal Load Calculations, and energy modeling.
Communicate complex issues to non-technical peers and to management.
Strong customer focus.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Smoke Management Systems.
Knowledge of the design and application of kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, and other mechanical equipment.
Experience using AFT Arrow and Fathom, analysis software.
Experience implementing mechanical systems in the ESRI ArcGIS systems.
Mechanical construction experience.
CO2, CO, Refrigerant monitoring system design.
USGBC LEED Certified.
Required Education
BA/BS Mechanical Engineering.
Preferred Education
MA/MS Mechanical Engineering.
The hiring range for this position in California is $101,926.00 to $136,730.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
