The Senior Manager, Marketing Data Analytics has a key role in Jackson Hewitt’s Marketing strategy. This role will provide vital insights into Marketing performance and help the business make decisions informed by data to grow acquisition and retention. This role will lead analysis and reporting used by the Executive team and the Board. This is a highly visible role and will require frequent collaboration with Marketing leadership.

The primary role of the Senior Manager, Marketing Data Analytics is to drive customer acquisition and retention improvements through data-led analysis and insights. To be successful in this role, you must enjoy delivering not just the “what”, but also the “why”. You need to be comfortable iterating through hypothesis validation and scenario analysis to make recommendations, and passionately advocate for changes that will help the team deliver continuous improvements to Marketing KPIs.

What you’ll do here:
  • Lead customer retention analytics and audience creation for Marketing campaigns
  • Identify insights from internal and external data sources to help optimize the marketing funnel, from awareness to conversion
  • Conceptualize, develop and report KPI to measure the effectiveness of marketing channels and campaigns
  • Proactively monitor customer and financial data to develop actionable strategies for increased retention
  • Create audiences (using internal and third-party data) to develop customer segments for acquisition and campaign creation
  • Collaborate with agencies and CRM channels to define, identify and syndicate audiences
  • Make actionable recommendations to guide channel strategies for acquisition, conversion and retention
  • Work closely with Marketing leaders to distill org-wide customer retention and acquisition goals into channel-specific goals and milestones
  • Embody Continuous Improvement philosophy to improve existing workflows
Skills you’ll bring for success:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Min. 3+ years’ progressive experience in Marketing analytics
  • Min. 3+ years’ experience writing advanced SQL to query and analyze large enterprise datastores
  • Min. 3+ years’ experience building dashboards with BI applications (ex: Looker Studio, Qlik Sense, Tableau, etc.)
  • Min. 3+ years’ experience performing quantitative analysis on multi-variate datasets to uncover insights and present recommendations to leadership
  • Min. 2+ years’ experience performing Customer Analytics, including but not limited to, retention/churn analysis, campaign lift analysis, customer journey analysis, segmentation
  • Min. 2+ years’ experience with scenario analysis and A/B testing (design, execution and reporting)
  • Min. 2+ years’ experience collaborating cross-functionally to manage and deliver analytics projects
  • High proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong organizational skills, portfolio prioritization and ownership
  • Preferred skills (not required to apply, but preference will be given to candidates with the following):
  • Experience performing quantitative analysis on data from media channels, such as Search, Social, Display, Email, and Text,
  • Experience with advanced analytics, such as churn modeling, look-alike modeling, factor analysis,
  • Familiarity with Media Mix Model (MMM), Multi-Touch Attribution (MTA) & Customer Lifetime Value (LTV),
  • Experience with a programming language and/or application for analytics beyond SQL (ex: SAS, Python, R, Stata, etc.),
  • Experience building audiences using third-party demographic data, such as Experian, TransUnion (Neustar), Equifax (IXI), etc.
  • Familiarity with Customer Data Platform (CDP) & Identity Data Management Platform (IDMP)
