Senior Machine Learning / Computer Vision Engineer – 3DSeeking an expert innovator with experience in image-based machine learning to contribute to production of our small-size-big-impact software client’s revolutionary 3D reconstruction software products! In this role, you will apply your skills in image classification, object detection, edge detection, pose estimation, object counting, and more as part of a small, tight-knit team of highly experienced engineers.
This is a senior-level, direct-hire position. The role is fully remote, but candidates local to North Carolina are preferred, with secondary preference being Washington state or Georgia. Salary is flexible within the $150,000 - $250,000 range, to accommodate qualified candidates of varying experience and credentials, and the total compensation package will also include benefits and stock options. Responsibilities of the Senior Machine Learning / Computer Vision Engineer:
- Contribute to the proprietary 3D reconstruction engine as well as associated production applications that utilize it
- Contribute to the following initiatives:
- Train machine learning algorithms on both aerial imagery and imagery from the ground
- Object detection, counting, and classification
- Obstruction segmentation and removal
- Estimation of pose, edges, boundaries
- Image recognition of materials, activities
- Lead the team in best practices for setting up new ML projects, especially with nonstandard setups
- Master’s degree or PhD in a related field is strongly preferred; equivalent relevant experience in a production environment also considered
- 5-10+ years’ experience contributing to high-performance production software related to the field of machine learning and computer vision; relevant high-level academic experience in the same field also considered
- Experience with C++, Python, or similar to write stable, efficient, and maintainable code
- Experience working with 3D imagery
- Experience with common computer vision concepts such as object detection, pose estimation, and object recognition
