The Applied Mechanics (AM) and Reliability team provides laboratory, simulation, and reliability engineering expertise to Emerson Commercial & Residential (ComRes) HVACR business units. As a Sr./Lead Simulation Engineer - Model Based Digital Engineering (MBDE) in the global AM Simulation team, you will work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary engineering team to develop, validate, and standardize 1D/2D/3D HVACR system, sub-system simulation models using model-based engineering tools and methodologies. You will also demonstrate ability to diligently track and manage progress of the work by facilitating open dialog with a wide variety of contributors and stakeholders. AS AN SR./LEAD SIMULATION ENGINEER – MODEL BASED DIGITAL ENGINEERING, YOU WILL :

• Collaborate with global simulation and engineering teams to identify opportunities and define scope to apply 1D/2D/3D model-based simulation tools
• Lead development of simulation models of HVACR systems, sub-systems using industry leading simulation tools
• Design and lead activities to verify and validate (V&V) simulation models. This will require partnering with global subject matter experts, creating test plans, and/or leveraging available test data by working with data science team.
• Lead democratization of validated simulation models for the engineering community.
• Drive engagement to understand & manage business priorities. Utilize project management & lean tools to create schedules and deliver results.
• Effectively communicate project status to various stakeholders in the organization by preparing presentation of results.

Flexible Work Schedule – Remote Work Option and Core Hours
This role has the flexibility of a remote work option up to three days a week and a core hour schedule. You can choose to flex your start and stop times given you are working during the core hours of 9:00am - 3:00pm. Required Education, Experience, & Skills :

• Bachelor’s degree in scientific or engineering discipline or related field and 7+ years relevant experience.
• Hands-on experience working with 1D/2D/3D simulations tools and their application in the Simulation Driven design model
• Proven track record of applying fundamental engineering principles and creative thinking to drive timely engineering decisions.
• Strong investigative, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication skills. Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to develop collaborative partnerships on a global basis
• Proven computer skills including MS Words, excel, PowerPoint.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills :

• Master of Science degree in scientific or engineering discipline or related field and 5+ years of relevant experience
• Hands-on experience on model-based engineering concepts, principles, and theories. Experience in GT Suite software preferred
• Deep knowledge of the engineering physics, multi-physics 1D/2D/3D simulations (FEA, CFD, FSI), simulation verification & validation (V&V) techniques, statistics, and engineering analysis
• Demonstrated capability in leading development of computer programs using common programing language (python, C, C++ etc.)
• Training and experience in Lean, six sigma and project management tools
