Overall Purpose of the Job

The MedAire Information Technology Department’s mission is to support Business Unit entering and accessing information and data enabling accurate and timely execution of required functions in a 24x7 365-day global operation.

As a member of the Applications team, the Sr. Java/HTML Developer will work alongside the Infrastructure, Project Management, Digital and Corporate IT Teams to run and support all aspects of MedAire's regional applications, web sites, and databases.

Also, members of the MedAire IT Team act as a Business Relationship Manager (BRM) to several business units.

The Sr. Java/HTML Developer participates as a senior member of the MedAire IT Team, acts as an alternate to the Lead .NET Developer, Database, and Web Site matters, and is expected to collaborate with the Development Team on a regular basis to ensure the team is aligned on current priorities so we maintain sufficient levels of both operations and project deliverables

Key Responsibilities

  • Development and maintenance of MedAire’s custom ServiceNow deployment
  • Ongoing design, development, and support of MedAire's regional server based and hosted (internal and external) applications, web sites, and databases
  • Remain current with maintaining and executing MedAire's Application Roadmap
  • Maintain and administer all Internet Domains, execute periodic site redesigns and enhancements, and routinely review/maintain site content to ensure accuracy
  • Report Development and Maintenance using SQL queries and SSRS
  • Operational support including database level user account setup/support/removal, and response to incidents and requests submitted by MedAire employees. Conduct swift and thorough issue resolution, root cause analysis, and preventive actions on all P1 outages. Utilizing technology and associated skills drives an ongoing increase in end-user efficiency while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Participate heavily in supporting MedAire's Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery Readiness and Documentation. This includes adhering to corporate application and database standards, regular system maintenance, capacity planning, and supporting the Global Response Center in Crisis situations.
  • Interact directly with Business Leaders on a regular basis for Service Level Management, Projects, Challenges, and other topics as required
  • Manage small to medium projects with a high degree of accuracy and governance. To include completing project charters, plan development, and execution in alignment to the plan. Also includes all documentation and training to end users and support staff. Additionally, participate in larger projects up to global in nature as a project team member
  • Maintain and measure a high degree of availability across all systems and applications.
  • Tight alignment to Corporate Information Security policies and procedures
  • Remain updated on technology trends including self-driven development and internal cross training.
  • Maintain all client information which may be encountered either directly or indirectly while in the performance of the job in strict confidence and in accordance with HIPAA and/or any other patient or financial confidentiality regulations
  • Remain current in understanding and application of MedAire's ISO 9001:2008 processes and provide support as required in tasks associated with MedAire maintaining its ISO certification. This includes Quality Documentation Administration, and continuous process/service improvement
  • Development and Cross Training as driven by business requirements

Required Skills and Knowledge

  • Knowledge of application design concepts using Object Oriented methodologies and able to develop systems with performance and operational maintenance
  • Good knowledge of Relational Database Management System (SQL 2016/2019)
  • Developing reporting requirements using SSRS and SharePoint services
  • Familiarity with various analytic tools for monitoring and measuring databases, applications, and web sites
  • Ability to create clear concise technical documents and review technical deliverables
  • Experience in build and configuration management
  • Experience in deployment and change, configuration, and release management
  • Advanced level understanding of Incident Management and Change Control Protocols
  • Must have excellent customer service and collaboration skills
  • Vendor management skills
  • Providing remote support to distant clients and locations

Required Work Experience

  • 5+ years in application development, production support, and performance fine tuning using Microsoft Technologies
  • 5+ years of experience with Service Now development methodologies
  • 5+ years of experience using HTML and JavaScript
  • 5+ years working on C#, ASP.NET, VSS, and Microsoft SQL building large scale distributed .NET applications
  • Web site planning, design, and development including use of interactive media
  • Have both led and participated in projects scaling from small to medium in scope

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science/Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
  • Related technical certifications desirable

Required Languages

  • English speaking
  • Second language a plus

Travel / Rotation Requirements

  • Minimal domestic and international travel required.
  • Evening and weekend work are occasionally required.
  • Required participation in a weekly rotating on call role providing 24X7 support outside of normal business hours.
  • Several global conference calls which will take place outside of normal business hours
