The Sr. Director, Distribution Fulfillment Strategy develops and drives the long-range planning and recommendations for our network configurations. He/she develops partnerships both internally and externally using data science/data analytics, IT and logistics to act as a “supply chain architect” to understand the implications of the network nodes, where they should be located, how that affects customers, inbound transportation, shipping cost and inventory utilization.

As a new role to the organization, he/she must be able to take complex strategies and set clear and defined vision, they must be nimble and able to resolve complex problems, or problems where precedent may not exist, making decisions that support both internal and external partners as needed. He/she needs to establish processes and solutions that meet Lands’ End’s and our suppliers requirements and needs. They need to set clear metrics and goals and communicate those, holding all accountable. This position requires a strong understanding of technology and systems. He/she will lead one and up to a team of Distributive Order Management specialists.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the key business strategies.
  • Develop trusted internal relationships, build credibility through subject matter expertise to ensure solution value demonstration to the business.
  • Drive process and innovation; bring in and disseminate new subject matter knowledge, leading practices, and ideas to engage and influence process innovation that work within the business model.
  • Demonstrated strong understanding of supply chain and direct customer fulfillment, with previous experience at omni-channel retailers required.
  • Must understand how to configure a fulfillment network and inventory placement to maximize speed, increase inventory sell through, improve customer experience and reduce stranded inventory.
  • Will have previous experience in understanding how total fulfillment cost and speed is affected by various network models.
  • Can leverage previous experience and bring industry best practices for network modeling that have been successful in real world implementations .
  • Ability to drive broad multi-departmental change with the sensitivity to how others and the departments’ function, yet create sustainment.
  • Lead the DOM role in the development of metrics and reporting.
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in operations supply chain management, operations management, business, or in another relevant field.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience
  • A high level of confidence, integrity, and critical thinking skills, establishing credibility and decisiveness while balancing varying business considerations/priorities.
  • Demonstrated expertise with data analytics, business case development and retail P&L acumen.
  • Demonstrated cross-functional partnerships to work with and lead teams towards a common goal. Ability to provide coaching to teams and stakeholders to achieve common goals. Ability to influence others without formal authority.
  • Strong results orientation (holding self and others accountable, driving to deadlines, financial targets, project goals, etc.).
  • High degree of curiosity and ‘learning agility’ with the ability to readily consume and apply latest information and concepts with well-developed critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to present in front of a large group on a topic with which you have expertise. Should be comfortable communicating with senior level executives.
  • Demonstrate self-awareness and take action to grow professionally.
  • Project management professional certification a plus.
