RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide structural and foundation design of small-to-large size engineering projects
• Will assist other engineers in completing detailed design tasks
• Prepare accurate and complete designs and calculations as required to meet project requirements with limited supervision
• Develop estimate-level preliminary designs
• Produce detailed design calculations and sketches for designers
• Review structural steel shop drawings and inter-discipline drawings for Civil/Structural input
• Coordinate with other disciplines and collaborate with Design/Drafting Staff to assist Lead Engineer to ensure effective quality product.
• Conduct field investigations when needed; produce field reports with detailed sketches.
• Keep up to date on new engineering processes, techniques, and standards.
• Ensure that effective methods and design/engineering techniques are used.
• Contribute to a team environment by accomplishing related results in a cooperative and supportive manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Brown and Root Industrial Services Engineering (BRIS), a Brown and Root Company, is seeking a Civil Structural Engineer with 4+ years' experience in Oil and Gas, Petrochemical or Terminal Projects to work in our Baton Rouge Engineering Office.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• B.S., Civil Engineering Degree
• P.E. License or E.I. on path to becoming licensed within next 12 months
• Preferred experience includes design of process structures, pipe racks, design of foundations for structures, process equipment and tanks
• Experience in industrial railroad design, design of docks/marine structures, process, and stormwater sewer design a plus
• Proficient use of STAAD Pro, Mat3D, Foundation 3D
• Familiar with CAD design tools
• Proficient using MS Office Suite, Excel, and Access
