The selected candidate provides analytical testing support for process characterization, developmental stability studies, and release of preclinical or clinical batches for internal research projects. The individual selected for this position will conduct testing of non-routine sample types in support of process development, characterization, and/or validation and compile data for the generation of multi-user interactive analytical databases. The analyst may participate in development, implementation and validation of new analytical techniques.

Job Responsibilities:

The individual will perform non-routine to technically more diverse testing and analysis with minimal assistance using modern instrumental analytical techniques including but not limited to coagulation assays, enzymatic assays, immunoassays, chromatography (HPLC, GC, IC), capillary electrophoresis, and gel electrophoresis.- The candidate will perform accurate technical/GXP review of other operators work and can interpret /understand trends in data.
- The candidate will contribute to report writing and perform data analysis.
- The individual will also assist in coordination of specific activities such as method validation execution, IOQ execution and small study execution. The candidate must have strong scientific understanding of the test methods being performed as well as the products/intermediates being tested.

- The candidate must be able to recognize aberrant results and will be responsible for initiating investigations when necessary. He or she will participate in moderate to extensive problem solving which requires original thought and must effectively interact with scientific and non-scientific personnel.
- The candidate must be able to recognize when to modify a standard approach to be more effective and incorporates new technology when appropriate. Frequent communication with personnel from other departments is often necessary to fulfill project assignments.

Senior Associate Research Scientist I:
Degree must be within a relevant field: (Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or Toxicology) Masters plus + 1 year experience, or Bachelors plus 3-4 years, No degree requires 7 years of experience. Depending on the area of assignment, directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience and/or competencies may be considered in place of the stated requirements. Example: If a job level requires a Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of experience, an equivalency could include 8 years of experience, an Associate’s degree with 6 years of experience, or a Master’s degree with 2 years of experience.
Associate Research Scientist II:
Degree must be within a relevant field: (Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or Toxicology) Masters with no experience, or Bachelors plus 1-2 years, No degree requires 5 years of experience. Depending on the area of assignment, directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience and/or competencies may be considered in place of the stated requirements. Example: If a job level requires a Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of experience, an equivalency could include 8 years of experience, an Associate’s degree with 6 years of experience, or a Master’s degree with 2 years of experience.
Work is performed in a clinical and/or a laboratory environment. Exposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organisms. Exposure to electrical office equipment. Exposure to chemicals. Personal protective equipment required such as protective eyewear, garments and gloves. Frequently sits and bends neck for 4-6 hours per day. May stand and twist neck for 2-4 hours per day. Occasionally walks, bends and twists waist and squats. Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. Ability to make precise coordinated movements, of the fingers to grasp and manipulate objects. Moderate lifting of 15-30lbs. with a maximum lift of 35 lbs. May reach above and below shoulder height. Color perception/discrimination, near vision and far vision correctable in one eye to 20/30 and to 20/100 in the other eye.
