JOB OVERVIEW:
This position is responsible for performing many accounting and analysis functions including but not limited to journal entries, preparation of division P&Ls and supporting schedules, ad hoc reporting, and coding of invoices.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter who is comfortable working independently as well as with a strong team. The candidate must be willing to learn new business concepts as well as review financial information for accuracy as well as trends.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Own the monthly process of updating P&Ls across all Medical & North American Distribution Groups, review of operating expense variance against budget and forecast and researching unusual activity.
  • Perform month end close activities, including but not limited to partnering with Core Accounting, preparing journal entries, and understanding balance sheet activity.
  • Responsible for rolling all internal schedules and P&Ls forward each month.
  • Responsible for monthly ad hoc analyses including Sales & Marketing, Advertising, T&E, Cell Phone, Tradeshows, and other meetings.
  • Compile Monthly Reporting Packages for Business Leaders after management review.
  • Review and Code AP Invoices (high volume) ensuring they are properly coded where they were budgeted as well as proper accounting (BS/P&L). Work with the Accounts Payable department to ensure proper documentation is provided.
  • Acts as a liaison with Core Accounting and various financial business leads to ensure accuracy of the P&L during each month end close.
  • Lead and implement new process and improvements to build efficiencies.
  • Work on Quarterly and annual requirements such as quarterly Sarbanes Oxley testing, quarterly Sales cutoff Testing, and annual LCM Testing.
  • Prepare supporting data as input for annual budget process for US Medical and North America Distribution Group.
  • Ad Hoc analysis and special projects as requested.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
  • Strong/Advanced experience in Excel skills.
  • JD Edwards, HFM (Hyperion Financial Management), Essbase and PBCS (Pegasus Planning) a plus
  • Experience gathering and interpreting data
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required
  • CPA a plus, not required

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:
Typically 3 to 5 or more years of increasing responsibility in terms of any applicable professional experience.
PREFERRED EDUCATION: Typically a Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in related discipline.
*While this role is a Work From Home role, it is preferred that the candidate is commutable to the Melville area for team meetings when necessary.*
The posted range for this position is $67,200- $100,800. This position is eligible for a bonus not reflected in the posted range.
