Position Summary:
BayFirst Solutions, a subsidiary of Versar, is seeking a Splunk Engineer to support the United States Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM) with expertise operations and maintenance for the Splunk Enterprise, Splunk App for Enterprise Security, Splunk App for VMWare, Splunk User Behavior Analytics for a DoD organization. This engineer will be expected to take lead on various projects across the organization, driving direction and oversight for the work.
The candidate shall perform the majority of the support services at the primary location HQ INSCOM, Fort Belvoir, VA. For maintenance and improvement of the Splunk Enterprise, travel may be required to various INSCOM locations within the Contiguous United States (CONUS) and Outside the Contiguous United States (OCONUS).
The core hours are 9AM to 3PM and HQ INSCOM Government personnel are typically on site between the hours of 6AM to 6PM. The candidate is expected to work a 40-hour work week with working hours between 6AM to 6PM, depending on the support needed at the individual site.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Splunk Engineer Expertise for the Operations and Maintenance of Splunk Enterprise, Splunk App for Enterprise Security; Splunk App for VMWare; Splunk User Behavior Analytics for a DoD organization
- Oversee the O&M of Splunk Enterprise, Splunk App for Enterprise Security; Splunk App for VMWare; Splunk User Behavior Analytics for a DoD organization
- Splunk Team Responsibilities include
- Splunk System Administration
- New Solution design and implementation
- Application support
- Security Analytics
- Splunk System reports and visualization development
- Update and maintenance of technical documentation and diagrams
- Splunk System functional assessments and operations and performance testing
- Splunk System consulting and user training,
- Splunk System Tier-III support services
- Development of Splunk system technical documentation and SOPs
- Splunk Architecture analysis and improvement, including fault tolerance and/or high availability
- Splunk Architecture improvement roadmap development
- Continuity of Business and Disaster Recovery design analysis and improvement implementation for the Splunk Architecture
- Installation, configuration, management, and optimization of Splunk software
- Monitoring and optimization of Splunk Architecture performance
- Analysis and improvement of configuration of data collection and data mapping
- Analysis, improvement, and implementation of backup strategy for the Splunk Architecture
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience
- Active IAT Level III certification or IASAE Level I certification
- Splunk Enterprise Certified Architect or Splunk Core Certified Consultant certification required
Security Clearance Requirements:
- Top Secret (TS) with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security clearance IAW DOD 5200.2-R and must maintain the level of security required for the life of the task order.
- Future work related to this task order may require a TS/SCI with Counter Intelligence Polygraph (TS/SCI w/CI Poly) clearance.
- Individuals with access to National Security Agency Intranet (NSANet) must complete a Counter Intelligence (CI) Polygraph in advance of performing work.
- Contractor personnel must be capable of being “read-on” and providing services upon task order award.
- The CI Poly examination will be scheduled by Government personnel once the contractor is read-on to SCI. Prior to approval of the CI Poly, the contractor will be allowed access to the UNCLASSIFIED//FOUO, SECRET//NOFORN, TS/SCI//NOFORN networks only.
- Personnel must sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement. Personnel must perform within the security limitations of AR 381-10, United States Signals Intelligence Directive (USSID) SP0018, and other security regulations.
