Overview:
As Maintenance Manager for the SpringHill Suites you will be responsible for the overall maintenance and upkeep of a 130 room hotel, the structure, guest rooms, public areas, mechanical systems, kitchen and laundry equipment and grounds of the property performing various maintenance tasks and repairs while responding to guest request to ensure a problem free guest experience. All while providing exceptional guest service according to company and brand standards while learning, growing and having FUN!

Responsibilities:
  • Provide professional courteous service to our guests, accommodating requests while prioritizing and scheduling work orders in a timely manner
  • Work very closely with housekeeping to provide clean, safe and well maintained hotel with everything in good working order.
  • Ensure that the team is trained properly and adheres to all safety and security guidelines regarding equipment safety, guest safety and safe chemical handling procedures in compliance with all state codes/regulations and brand standards and minimize guest and employee accidents
  • Ensure that the maintenance team performs preventive maintenance in lighting, plumbing, electrical circuits and wiring, HVAC, furniture, fixtures and equipment in guest rooms and public areas, doors and locks, floor surfaces, including carpets, hotel exterior, grounds and parking lot, signage, mechanical equipment in kitchen and laundry facilities. Maintain logs/records.
  • Troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on equipment.
  • Perform routine pool maintenance, including adjusting chemicals and cleaning filters.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and parts, purchasing according to departmental budget
  • Light I.T. support to maintain internet service, phone system and office equipment
  • Hires, trains, develops and leads maintenance team. Scheduling in accordance with occupancy forecast and budget
  • Performance management including disciplinary action
  • Adhere to and enforce all Carowinds Park specific policies and procedures
  • Other duties may be assigned
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years previous experience required in Building Maintenance, Hotel Maintenance preferred.
  • Previous leadership role with direct reports in Maintenance position preferred. Self-motivated and results driven.
  • Skilled in HVAC, mechanical, light electrical, carpentry, painting & wallpapering, plumbing
  • Ability to lift and carry 50lbs
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays according to business demand
  • Ability to pass mandatory (and/or random) drug screen per company policy unless prohibited by state or provincial law
  • Ability to pass background screen if 18 years of age or older which may include but is not limited to credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references per company policy unless prohibited by federal, state or provincial law.
