HCA Houston Healthcare North Cypress is affiliated with HCA Houston Healthcare, part of the HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division. The division is a comprehensive network of hospitals, outpatient surgery centers, emergency centers and diagnostic imaging facilities in greater Houston, Corpus Christi and South Texas. Facilities include: 17 hospitals, nine ambulatory care centers, 13 off-campus emergency centers, and a regional transfer center.
What you will do in this role:
- Coordinates the speech/language pathology care for the patient population who are acutely ill and have medical needs which result in cognitive, swallowing, or language deficits.
- The speech/language pathologist is expected to accurately assess patients’ needs; identify and implement appropriate speech/language pathology interventions; coordinate and/or provide patient and family teaching and work in collaborative association with the interdisciplinary team to provide timely, safe, and cost effective treatment to achieve the optimal functional outcome.
- The speech therapist may also treat patients in the out-patient setting.
Qualifications
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited school of Speech/Language Pathology required.
What qualification you will need:
- Licensed Speech/Language Pathologist in the state of Texas required.
- Certified in Clinical competency by ASHA preferred.
American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support course (BLS or BCLS) and certification is required.
