POSITION:
Speech and Language Pathologist
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s Degree
- Experience in a school setting preferred
- Fully licensed in State of MI and has met requirements for Certificate of Clinical Competence
- Demonstrated ability to effectively instruct children with speech and language impairments including administration/interpretation of audiometric
- Ability to develop IEP goals and objectives based on student need
- Ability to communicate effectively with multiple services providers
- Demonstrated ability to provide consultation and suppose within an education environment
- Knowledgeable in current therapy techniques for students with various speech/language impairments
- Knowledge and understanding of developmentally appropriate practices for children of various ages
- Knowledge of a range of Augmentative and Alternative Communication tools
- Knowledge of Augmentative and Alternative Communication implementation strategies
JOB FUNCTION:
- Consult with teachers on intervention strategies for helping students succeed in general education setting
- Write goals and objectives aligned with general education content standards
- Provide speech and language intervention to students
- Model effective instructional techniques
- Offer/provide tiered intervention strategies within the general education setting
- Facilitate/lead IEPT meetings as diagnostic or administrative representative
- Evaluate students suspected of meeting eligibility for special education services
- Utilize tools for evaluative of Augmentative and Alternative Communication devices/tools
- Utilize technology for evaluation and service delivery
- Maintain appropriate records
- Complete service logging documentation in a timely manner
- Participate in meetings, workshops, and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required of position
- Predictable, reliable, and punctual attendance
- Other responsibilities as assigned at the direction of the Supervisor or Superintendent
