Sagis Diagnostics is an entirely physician-led sub-specialty pathology group supported by a CAP-accredited Histology lab located in the heart of Houston, Texas (290 at 610). Led by a team of board-certified pathologists, our lab is at the forefront of diagnostic science. We offer the highest quality services to physicians, physician groups, ambulatory surgery centers, and hospitals.
One of our many strengths is we develop strong collaborative relationships with each of our referring physicians by offering accurate, prompt, and clear diagnoses in a personal and customized manner. Due to our rapid growth, Sagis is looking for Accessioners to work in our Houston laboratory.
FLSA: RFT/Non-Exempt/hourly
SHIFT: Monday-Friday, 12:00PM- 8:30PM, 10PM to 6:30AM
PAY: $16.50 an hour- Additional $2 shift differential for overnight shift
Responsibilities:
Enter patient data into a laboratory information system
Communicate with clinics/physicians to collect missing information
Properly label all specimen bottles and cassettes with the appropriate accession number
Prepare laboratory correspondence
File information in various formats
Maintain information in various logs
Communicate with multiple departments and clients
Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Laboratory Supervisor.
Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures of Sagis and regulatory compliance requirements
Requirements:Requirements:
High school education or equivalent REQUIRED
Good Attention to Detail is REQUIRED
MUST be able to type at least 40 WPM
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
Intermediate knowledge and skills in the operation of computers
Ability to work well with others
Professional, pleasant communications skills
Office experience, preferably in a medical or other health care setting is a PLUS
Bachelor’s degree in Biology/Chemistry or similar fields required for advancing to other lab positions
Physical Requirements:
This job is performed in an environmentally-controlled office setting. Candidates must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift, push, pull, and see. There is no Work from Home option due to HIPAA regulations for securing information.
