Position Overview: * Best Buddies is seeking a well-rounded and creative email & web content developer to join our team. As a member of the Best Buddies Technology team, the Email & Web Content Specialist performs all functions necessary to create, build, maintain, support Best Buddies email and webpage content. You will collaborate with key stakeholders to create visually appealing emails and webpages that feature modern user-friendly design, engaging content, and follow the latest ADA accessibility standards.

Job Requirements – Qualified applicants must have: *

• Bachelors degree preferred

• 3+ years of work experience in email marketing or web development
• Ability to take content provided as a Word document and create responsive emails
• High proficiency in HTML & CSS
• In-depth experience with WordPress (experience using Visual Composer & Elementor a plus).
• Skilled in Adobe Photoshop basics
• Thorough knowledge of design and composition best practices for web publishing
• Ability to troubleshoot email design compatibility issues for all major browsers/devices
• Mobile-conscious and forward-thinking designer
• Strong organizational skills & project management skills
• Team player, with the confidence to take the lead and guide other departments when necessary
• Ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in written and verbal format
• Good technical understanding and can pick up new tools quickly
• Ability to execute multiple projects on a timeline
• Strong design and creative ability (specifically as it related to driving event ticket sales and donations)
• Excellent customer service and marketing/sales-driven

Job Duties* include, but are not limited to:

• Marketing and Development*

• Assist our communication teams by converting content supplied in Word documents into fully functioning HTML emails (newsletters, event invites, donation campaigns and more)
• Assist with the creation of beautiful and easy-to-use email templates
• Regularly update content on Best Buddies websites (adding news articles, event listings, etc.)
• Train staff on email and web best practices and brand compliance

Operations*

• Build CSS and HTML rich emails from content supplied via Word or other non-web based file types
• Enhance supplied content through graphics, customizations, calls-to-action, and additional advanced features.
• Understand our basic database structure in order to correctly target receiver audiences
• Manage and report on email marketing campaigns and results
• Perform routine site audits, as well as ongoing content updates, as needed
• Collaborate closely with Web Operations team and provide technical support and assistance to other members of the team
• Implement web ADA accessibility standards
• Handles special projects relating to the above responsibilities as assigned
• Works evenings and weekends, as necessary, to complete assignments or in support national fundraising events
• Provide weekly documentation of work

• Experience working at or servicing non-profit organizations
• Marketing background as it relates to designing and building emails and webpages that generate leads and sales
• Ability to travel to national fundraising events a plus
