United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County invests in over 200 programs at over 100 local nonprofits and community wide initiatives that improve lives. In 2022, United Way raised over $58 million!

Summary:
United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County is a Speakers Bureau Coordinator for our 2023 Community Campaign. The Speakers Bureau Coordinator supports the operations of United Way’s Speakers Bureau, which is a group of key volunteers that speak at workplace engagements throughout the community, by fulfilling speaker requests, building relationships with key non-profit partner contacts, and performing critical administrative tasks. The Speakers Bureau Coordinator start with United Way on Wednesday, August 2 nd with thorough training, and end their seasonal position on Tuesday, December 19th with the close of the Community Campaign.

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:
  • Gain a working knowledge of United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County.
  • Attend Speakers Bureau training and provide feedback to speakers.
  • Provide weekly updates at staff meetings.
  • Coordinate and manage daily requests for speakers.
  • Develop and strengthen working relationships with all agency speakers and executive directors.
  • Maintain and update Speakers Bureau lists with accurate contact information.
  • Coordinate the collection of presentation feedback on a consistent basis and organize, evaluate, and share results.
  • Assist with miscellaneous events, volunteer activities and administrative tasks.
  • Coordinate weekly agency speaker presentations for United Way staff.

  • Ability to multi-task, managing several projects at once by prioritizing and planning.
  • Intermediate Excel skills are necessary to create and manipulate spreadsheets.
  • Intermediate Word skills are required to performing mail merges.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn other computer programs such as ANDAR and web-based reports is also a key component of this role.
  • Strong written and verbal skills are necessary to effective communication in all facets of our business.
  • Adaptability to a fast-paced environment with very high demands.
  • Ability to represent United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County in a consistently professional manner.



Education and Experience Requirements:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • A commitment of 37.5 hours per week.
  • A valid driver’s license, reliable automobile and auto insurance coverage is preferred. Please note that if needing to drive on the job, mileage is reimbursed.
  • 1 year of relatable work experience (performing administrative tasks in an office environment) is preferred or an internship/community service equivalent.

Covid 19 Protocol
  • United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County mandates that all employees be fully vaccinated against COVID 19. For purposes of this policy, an employee is considered fully vaccinated two weeks after receiving the second dose of a two-dose vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna) or one dose of a single-dose vaccination (J&J) as well as timely boosters.
