Our goal is to serve high quality food in a warm, fun atmosphere which encourages people to return again and again. \*Prairie Whale\* is looking for a strong cook or sous chef to join our team. Also willing to train someone with less experience. For sous chef, minimum one year prior experience in a similar position. Our ideal candidate is: an organized, self-motivated team player who aspires to progress as a cook, and is eager to cross-train to be able to work multiple stations - able to make the right decision under pressure and understands no job is beneath them - conscientious of food waste and maintains a clean and organized station - is reliable, punctual and able to communicate respectfully with all staff - capable of carrying 50 pounds & available to work nights and weekends The job includes day to day cooking and an opportunity to be a part of an evolving program. Aside from our main line, we also have a wood fired pizza oven in our garden that we incorporate when staffing allows. We pride ourselves on using local and sustainable sourcing of ingredients, prioritizing our neighboring farms and foragers whenever possible.
